2012 Land Rover Evoque Review
As Land Rovers smallest, lightest dare we say daintiest model, the Range Rover Evoque is clearly the brands most serious effort toward greener mobility. Its built on a Land Rover Freelander platform, but this baby Rangie has an even smaller footprint in person.

Walkaround
Sleek and sculpted from front to back, the Evoque is a near replica of Land Rovers LRX concept from two years ago. In fact, the two are nearly indistinguishable from the outside. The Evoque is easy on the eyes, and 19-inch wheels give this small SUV a noticeable upshot in height. Overall, the Evoques exterior presence exudes more style and uniqueness than competing small luxury utes from BMW and Audi. Judging by its low-slung profile and small rear window, we were expecting a cramped cabin, but theres more than enough headroom and legroom for 6-footers up front. The rear seat can accommodate average-size adults quite comfortably; theres a little less headroom than up front, but thats to be expected. Cargo space is not enormous, but its passable. Theres definitely enough room here to cart around luggage, but oversized items will be problematic.

Summary
The Evoques fit and finish is high quality. Buttons feel solid and tactile, as does the steering wheel. Gauges and controls dont have a highly sophisticated look, though. Luckily, theyre organized in an intuitive, ergonomic manner.
